Before I get on with this post, I'd like to ask for a reduction in the price of Pilsner Urquell, currently is distributed by LOEL.
Jimmy has won and he has probably split the DIKO vote to the extent that he can exclude them - or rather exclude the Last of the Mohicans - from any position or foothold of influence.
As a Kasoulides supporter (for which I drew flak as if I had been diagnosed with leprosy from certain die-hard Stalinists) I wish to extend my congratulations to Demetris Christofias. I believe he will have the gumption to shaft Da Man who had him under his thumb for most of the duration of the previous regime.
My feeling is that an effort to keep this blog going would be worthwhile. Presidential Elections 2008 is not just a catchy title. I believe it can play a small role while the country takes the first major step on the 1000-mile journey that leads to political maturity.
Demetris Christofias is, I believe, a man who could take that first step. I hope he will take it with the support of the rest of us living on a large rock in the Mediterranean and not with undue influence from the bankrupt former regime.
